Good morning, afternoon, or evening (depending on when you are reading this of course)!
I want to thank you for being here and reading this kick off blog for me and Patriot Consulting in Jacksonville, FL! I am going to have my team also create blogs to introduce them as well (stay tuned on that front).
In this first blog, I simply want to introduce (or reintroduce if you already know me) you to me and Patriot Consulting. Let me start by providing a modified bio that I currently use for my speaking engagements.
Who am I?
I am Brian McDonald (no relation to the McDonald brothers who founded the golden arches), I am a husband, a father of two, a sibling to many and a brother to all. I am also a published author. I am a serial entrepreneur and currently the CEO and CDA for Patriot Consulting (Jacksonville, FL). I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio but I currently live in Jacksonville, FL.
I fell in love with computers in general around October of 1993. However, I officially started my tech journey in 1999 and have expertise in Enterprise Data Management Strategy, Organizational Leadership, architecting data warehouses, data modeling, database administration, SQL Server Reporting Services, Power BI, Tableau, MicroStrategy, Integration Services, Azure Data Factory, and I have dabbled in Analysis Services. I have also been in roles as an application developer, network administrator, and database administrator. I take pride in everything that I do and diligently work to exceed expectations. All characteristics engrained while serving our country in the United States Marine Corps. Yes! I am old. I get it!
In addition to authoring a book, I have written for many industry websites (SQLServerCentral, the retired BIDN, SQLServerPedia and others) and I continually strive to improve my skill sets both professionally and personally. I have has presented for user groups, Code Camps, SQL Rally, and many SQL Saturday events in the U.S. since 2009. When not working, Brian enjoys “geeking” out with his wife Sherri and binge-watching Hallmark’s Christmas movies. Enough about me though… let me introduce you to Patriot Consulting!
